Slave Lake, Alberta

The Page

Decent turnout at the Wolves’ big fifth game against Peace River the other night, but not as good as it could have been. Folks, it is exciting hockey. The Wolves are a good team again and they could go all the way this season. A rockin’ building full of happy, noisy fans is exactly what those guys in red, white and blue need to take it to the next level. Let’s get out there and roar for the home team!

At the risk of being tedious, anybody with first-hand knowledge of the Fawcett Lake sawmill days during WWII, please call Joe at The Leader at 849-4380, or slip us an e-mail at leader@inetnorth.net. Or go the traditional route of a good old-fashioned letter. The address is Box 849, Slave Lake, T0G 2A0. Oh, if only that camp cook and schoolteacher would give us a call!

Oh my, wasn’t that a fun coffee house the SLMTA did on Feb. 15 at the Walter Twinn Theatre? It makes you sick to think the place might be closed with nothing to replace it. We need a performing arts theatre!
