The hunt for a new town manager for Slave Lake is over. Jay Simons of Burns Lake, British Columbia will take over the job vacated last year by Curtis Herzberg on Mar. 24.
“Mayor and council have made an offer and he’s accepted it,” said Acting Town Manager Ed Procyshyn last week.
Procyshyn will stay on until April first to show Simons the ropes.
Simons has been the chief administrative officer for the Town of Burns Lake for the past eight years. He spent two years prior to that in planning for the same municipality.
