Final curtain falls on Walter Twinn Theatre
The final curtain will fall at on the Walter Twinn Theatre in Slave Lake next month — slowly, silently to an empty house. That after Town councillors voted unanimously last week to terminate their lease with the Slave Lake Musical Theatre Association, and not renew the month-to-month lease it currently holds with the barbershop on the other half of the building. SLMTA will have until the end of August to remove its props and equipment.
'Deal with sediment please'
The weir at the mouth of the Lesser Slave River has helped maintain lake levels since it was installed in 1983. But it has also contributed largely to the problem of silting along the mouth and the narrowing of the channel into the lake.

Kodiaks win first-ever league championship
It took them a decade, but Slave Lake’s female hockey team has finally won a Northwest Alberta Female Hockey League championship. The Kodiaks put it all together in the championship game on Mar. 16, beating the perennial champion Hinton Wheelers 3 – 0.
Midgets go 2 - 2 at provincials
Slave Lake’s Midget Storm ended their 2002/03 season on a reasonably positive note at the provincial ‘A’ championships at Beaverlodge on the weekend. The Storm won two and lost two of their round robin games in
