Heat split in Stony Plain

The Sawridge Jr. ‘AAA’ Heat had another good news/bad news weekend in the Alberta Junior Baseball League. Playing a doubleheader against the Parkland White Sox in Stony Plain, the Heat won the first and lost the second.
With Brad Sinclair on the mound in the first game, the Heat won 5 – 2. Sinclair pitched six innings and Brent Blachford finished it off successfully.
The second game was nothing like the first. Parkland batters feasted on Slave Lake pitching, building up a 12 – 5 lead. Then the Heat came back and tied it in the seventh inning, thanks largely to Blachford’s grand slam home run. But the White Sox scored one in their half of the seventh to win 13 – 12.
J.P. Mailhot started the game for the Heat. Fred Rivard, Josh Gryschuk and Blair Sinclair took their turns on the hill.
The Heat are scheduled to host Parkland for two games this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, but the White Sox can't make the trip. The games will likely be rescheduled.
