Sports Highlights

Things are looking better and brighter lately at the skateboard park in Hilda Eben Park, thanks to a program of improvements organized by Stacey Kubel of Str8 Up. The upgrades include new rails and other equipment, as well as paint and repairs. More improvements are to come. Here, Tim Skahl applies a coat of light blue to the asphalt. Members of the Slave Lake business community helped out with donations. “Somebody had to do something for the children, and for the love of this sport,” says Str8 Up co-owner Liz Weinrich.
