The Sawridge Heat upped their Southshore Men’s League record to 9 - 0 last week with a 10 - 2 victory over the Boss Pressure Red Sox. The Heat had a perfect game going for five innings, using five different pitchers, before the Sox managed to get some baserunners.
The Wabasca Indians had a good week, winning twice and improving to 6 -1-2 on the season, good for second place. They beat the Eagles 7 - 6 on Monday and the Cardinals 14 - 5 on Thursday.
The Cardinals beat the Eagles 7 - 3 on Wednesday, but defaulted a June 19 game, giving the Eagles their second win of the season.
Playoffs start July 10 and teams must have their 15 games finished by then.
The Heat will not participate in the playoffs, due to their Jr. ‘AAA’ schedule. That means the top finisher will get a bye while the other four play off. The playoffs are a double-knockout affair over three days, ending on July 12.
