Fire consumes SW mobile home

He says residents behind the southwest mobile were the first to spot trouble and call 911.
Volunteer firefighters were on scene within eight minutes, he said “and that’s pretty good at 6:00 on a Saturday morning.
“We thought there’d be somebody home,” Gramiak added, “but thankfully there wasn’t.” He said firefighters had intial reports of a missing cat, “but we didn’t find any any remnants, so I expect it got out in time.”
Damage, he said, was “mostly inside – in the back bedroom area where it started.” There was no one home at the time, he added, and that’s why the blaze did its damage before anyone noticed it. The damage, said the chief, is limited to smoke damage for the most part, "but it's extensive." Fifteen firefighters responded to the early-mornng alarm.
Fire crews were up early to respond to their pagers Saturday. But it wasn’t early enough to prevent the spread of a fire that quickly consumed the entire structure, says Fire Chief Greg Gramiak.
“All indications are that failure of the breaker system in the panel,” was responsible for the blaze that caused an estimated $80,000 damage,” says the chief. “There’s nothing suspicious.”
He expects the mobile will be a ‘write off,’ explaining “the fire had already vented itself by the time anybody saw it.”
