Two die in freak roll-over on Desmarais street
Police in Desmarais have charged a driver with two counts of dangerous driving and impaired driving causing death after two males from that community died last Wednesday when the pick-up they were riding in left the road and flipped.

Relay mates (l-r) Morgan Hogberg, Dustin Leishman, Chad Anderson and Dane Boisvert were the team to beat in the 17-years-and-over relay races at Provincial competition in Calgary on the weekend. Results were not available at press time, but will appear in next week’s Leader.

Sharks on the hunt at Provincial competition
A dozen and a half members of the Slave Lake Sharks swim club will head to a provincial meet in Calgary this weekend after they qualified in a regional competition in Peace River early this month.

Hunt captures Oilmen’s golf title

Most of the winners knew the Gilwood Golf and Country Club greens like the back of hands. Most, that is, except Enilda golfer Lee Hunt who captured the Championship flight in the Oilmen’s 38th annual golf tournament.
