Chatters won't run in Athabasca
Athabasca Member of Parliament Dave Chatters will not run in the riding he’s represented for the past 10 years in the next federal election. Chatters announced last week that he will seek the nomination for the new Conservative Party of Canada in the Westlock-St. Paul riding instead.

Two games, two wins, 20 goals for Winterhawks
Slave Lake’s Senior hockey team continues to roll along undefeated, with two whopping victories on the weekend. On Saturday they clobbered Edson 9 – 1 and then on Sunday they walloped Whitecourt by an 11 – 3 score.
Bad weekend for Wolves
Things might get worse for the Slave Lake Wolves, but it’s hard to imagine how. Leading 7 – 3 in the second period against the league’s worst team on Saturday in Chetwynd, they gave up seven unanswered goals to lose 10 – 7.
