Beef producers hopeful
Word that live cattle under the age of 30 months could be crossing the border into the United States as early as January is a welcomed relief, according to one Flatbush producer who says dealing with mature animals still presents a conundrum for producers.
Airport on par with cities?
Planes flying into the Slave Lake airport could be taking a decidedly more direct and quicker route in coming months if the Airport Commission decides to spend $30,000 on a GPS (global positioning system) approach next year.

The Slave Lake Curling Club is planning a busy season with six bonspiels packed in between Jan. 9 and Mar. 20.
The fun begins with a true mixed bonspiel Jan. 9 – 11.
Dutch treat for Winterhawks in Hinton
The Slave Lake Winterhawks’ undefeated streak is over, after a loss Saturday night in Hinton against the Heat. On Sunday the ‘Hawks rectified the situation with a victory over the Heat, the team they beat last spring in the league championship.
