Council sets sights on southeast intersection
Moved by yet another poignant letter from a resident concerned about potential disaster at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 6th Street in the community’s southeast, word of another ‘near miss’ at the intersection that day, and a recommendation that they consider creating a three-way stop at that intersection, Slave Lake Town councillors pledged last week to consider the options at their December meeting.

Wolves break losing skid
The good news is the Slave Lake Wolves came to play on Saturday and threw the monkey off their backs with a 10 – 4 win over the Beaverlodge Blades. The bad news is that on Sunday they played badly and lost 6 – 3 to the same team.
Hinton steals one from Sabres
The Bantam ‘AA’ Sabres were well on their way to a two-game sweep of Hinton on Sunday, but there was a malfunction at the junction. Leading 5 – 2 after two periods, they let it slip away in the third and lost 6 – 5. That was after beating Hinton 7 – 5 on Saturday with a third-period surge of their own.
