AUPE stages information picket
Members of the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees who work for the provincial government are expected to hold an information picket at noon today (Wed., Dec. 3) to press for a fair wage increase in this round of bargaining.
Slave Lake Pulp south shore logging plan raises eyebrows
Its finally dawning on Slave Lake and south shore residents that those pristine hills south of the lake are going to get logged. Slave Lake Pulp and Alberta Plywood have been talking about it for a good year, but nobody much was paying attention.

Wolves lose games, players
The Slave Lake Wolves lost a couple of games on the weekend, and that was only part of the story. They had 10 skaters on a road trip and lost 14 2 to Dawson Creek and 9 3 to Beaverlodge.
Storm wins!
The Slave Lake Midget Storm may have turned a bit of a corner on the weekend. Losers of almost all their games so far this season, the Storm played a pair of close, low-scoring contests, winning the first 2 1 and losing the second 3 2.
