Slowpitch facility suffers damage

It seemed strange to be talking about baseball lin the middle of a snowstorm, but that’s what Annellen Eiserman was doing. Slowpitch, to be precise, was what she had on her mind.
“There are already seven teams registered,” Eiserman told The Leader. “Usually there are only about two at the first meeting.”
That was last week. The teams had to pay $400 to sign up - $100 of which is refundable to teams that show up with at least five members to a work party later in the season.
“We’ve got dugouts to finish and repair,” says Eiserman. “We’ve had vandalism, which I’m really upset about.”
Last year there were 14 slowpitch teams in the league. This year the season will go to the end of July, with playoffs to proceed early in August.
For more information call Eiserman at 849-5507.
