Congratulations to Brian Hay, the winner of this year’s Slave Lake Community Complex hockey pool. Brian caught up and pulled away from Sherry Huska during the final series, thanks to having six Flames and six Lightning players on his roster. He ended up with a nine-point win – 203 to 194. Better yet (for him), he finished in a tie for eighth place with another of his entries. The rich get richer. The best The Leader could do was 266th, meaning no golf shirts in the media challenge this year. A Scope entry wins that with 164, one point ahead of Richard McLaren of Cable TV.
In third place overall was Murray Broadhead with 189 points. Don Regier wrapped up fourth with 187 and Trish and Dave – last year’s champs – got fifth with 186 points. Hodge Mar 0768 and Marcoux S0157 finished in a tie for sixth with 185 points. Also finishing in the money were Ching P0248, Dombrosky 0701 and Brian Hay – all with 183 points. Those results are all unofficial for the time being, but are unlikely to change. Anyone who disputes them should call Harry Bartlett.

And while TeamMedia didn’t quite advance to the winners’ circle in last week’s Corporate Challenge, we did almost beat the socks off contestants in the Movie Trivia event, thanks to radio Morning Guy Tyler Russell...who apparently didn’t even need the questions, let alone the movie clip before he gave his answer.
“I know everything about movies,” he bragged, admitting, that “things like how to tie my shoes have been pushed right out.”
