Stop the presses, there’s a new nine-hole scoring record at Gilwood Golf Club. The red hot golfer is Rick Lukan, who fired a 31 on Men’s Night last week.
That’s five under par for one round, and one shot better than Roger Cheechoo’s 32, the previous record.
“I was playing with him and it was great to watch a super score like that being posted,” says Gilwood Manager Paul Barker.
Lukan’s closest competitor on the night was Murray Broadhead who was one over par at 37.
Mark Smith had the low net score in the 0 – 12 handicap group at 35, and so did Dennis Shupac.
Brad C. led the 13 – 20 handicappers with a 41. Richard Garon was second at 42. Brent Ghostkeeper had the low net score at 34, followed by Doug Fenn’s 36.
In the 21 – 25 group, Duncan Fisk’s 45 was the low gross score, with Peter Baker four off the pace. Low net went to Dave Fedorus at 35. Wayne S. was second at 39.
Barry McMeekin led the 26 and over handicap group with a 47. Steve Slack was right behind him at 48. Low net for the group was Bill Criss at 31 and then Camile Joly at 36.
