Slave Lake, Alberta

The Page

This just in (well, it actually came in a week ago but it didn’t get in until now): the long term care facility at the Slave Lake Health Complex is looking for volunteers to help with gardening. “We’re trying to make it as much their home as possible,” says Loreen Boyce. If you’re interested give the long term a call at 805-3575. They’re also having a pancake breakfast on July 8, so come on down!

Books! The Slave Lake library is holding a book sale fundraiser during Riverboat Daze and is welcoming all donations of books, videos or audiotapes for the occasion. Meanwhile, the summer reading program at the library is off to a great start with over 200 people signed up right off the bat. Last year there were only 170.

Off she goes, our very own Stacey Baba. Stacey heads home to Medicine Hat this week after working as an ad designer - and everything else you can imagine - at The Leader since last October. She even found the time to redecorate our front office. Stop in and see the results.
We were thinking of lots of other nice things to say, but we’re so mad about her leaving we aren’t going to say anything about what a great co-worker she was, and how her stay here was far too brief.
