The Page
Giving credit where credit is due -even though we’re not sure where from whence this joke first came - we have to pass on this one that we read on Page Six of an Edmonton newspaper last week.
Two blondes were talking and one asked the other which was closer, Vancouver or the moon.
“Helllooo-o-o,” said the second. “Like, can you see Vancouver?”

As readers study this issue’s Page, the backshop gremlins are very likely doing the dance of joy, celebrating the fact that sports guy Joe’s summer holiday is officially half over, and very likely the fact that we have survived.
But that’s only because the non-reporter types in our office volunteered to act like a Joe on the weekend nd take a bazillion pictures of Riverboat Daze and we’ll be forever indebted. So if you see strange (er, make that ‘unfamiliar’) sorts wandering around with cameras and acting like they own the show, say ‘Hello’ to Meghan Payne or Stuart Thiesson (we think you’ll know the difference) and congratulate them for doing a fine job. In fact, they were the ‘reporters’ who were traveling ‘incognito’ and snapping pictures at the Canada Day celebrations when organizers thought that the Lakeside Leader was nowhere to be found.
Our advertising manager, Kathie Millett also offered to man the lens for a few hours on Riverboat Daze weekend, too, so please be kind to anyone toting a camera anywhere this summer. Your picture might even end up on front page!
