The president of Slave Lake’s Chamber of Commerce says she’s confused that the provincial Progressive Conservative party nomination committee would reject the Chamber’s offer of an expense-free nomination meeting in one of the most populated areas of the Lesser Slave Lake constituency.

Woman tries to end it on tracks
Slave Lake RCMP pulled an apparently suicidal woman off the railroad tracks last Wednesday (July 14) as a train approached. She was unharmed, but faces five charges in Slave Lake Provincial Court this Wednesday.

Men's league final round starts
The league-leading Boss Pressure Red Socks and Kinuso’s Brewers are the only sure-starters tonight (Wed., July 21) as Slave Lake’s Men’s baseball league heads into its second round of playoffs, a double knock-out series as teams vie for the league’s championship trophy.

Storm wins first round
It took three hard-fought grueling games, but Slave Lake’s Storm ladies’ fastball team headed into the second round of their league playoffs last Monday evening after advancing victorious from a see-saw first round.
