Renal dialysis unit here in 2005
A renal dialysis unit could be in operation at the Slave Lake health complex early next year after Capital Health announced last week that it’s ready to expand its Northern Alberta Renal Program (NARP) by one satellite – this time attached to the Slave Lake facility.
Court dismisses Wiyamaipeg murder charge
No one will serve time in jail for the murder of Roy David Cardinal. His assailant walked out of Slave Lake Provincial Court on July 29 a free woman, after Judge Roger Smith dismissed the manslaughter charge against her.

Eagles advance to men's league final
The Widewater Eagles are back in the championship final of the Southshore Men’s Baseball League, after defeating the Kinuso Brewers last week in a close game. The Eagles overcame a three-run deficit after five innings to take the game 7 – 5.
Storm out of playoffs
The season is over for the Slave Lake Storm. The women’s fastball team lost three games to one last week to the Gift Lake Extreme in their semi-final playoff series.
