Make it three losses against one win in the season series between the Slave Lake Winterhawks and the Drayton Valley Wildcats. Every game so far had been decided by two goals and this one fit the pattern with the ‘Hawks losing 6 – 4.
The Wildcats had period leads of 2 – 1 and 5 – 3. They outshot the ‘Hawks 40 – 27.
Ryan Dierker scored twice for Slave Lake. Brent Blachford and Kyle Hansen scored the others. Calvin Beauchamp got the start in goal. The Winterhawks had 22 minutes in penalties, 14 more than the Wildcats. Fourteen skaters made the trip for the ‘Hawks.
The Winterhawks are off for Christmas and don’t play again until Jasper comes to town Jan. 8 and 9.
