From the look who’s back in town department, this just in: Jim Harrison popped in last week on a brief visit to town from his winter home in Kelowna. He’ll be back full-time pretty soon to get his Big Fish Bay RV Park ready for its second season under his ownership. Last year he added cabins and he’ll be doing more of that this year, which he figures will be even busier.
“I’m getting calls from all over,” says Jim.
Jim’s also putting on his hockey school here, for two weeks this summer instead of just one like last summer. The Slave Lake Summer Hockey School runs from Aug. 15 through the 27th. But don’t take our word for it. Call 849-6827 for the details.

Here’s something that was posted on The Leader website discussion board. A fellow named Mikel John McDonald is looking for a member of his family, J. McDonald, who he said graduated from Misericordia Nursing School in Edmonton in 1965. She would be about 62 now, he figures. He’s looking for her or any of her nine children. He didn’t leave any contact information, but presumably he’ll be monitoring the discussion board. It’s at lakesideleader.com/messageboard, under the topic: ‘Looking for info about Slave Lake?’
