RCMP Const. Marcia Rosenke seems to be looking for the emergency medical personnel as Dawn Corbiere attempts to reassure the driver of the truck that slammed into the SL Ford building on June 1. Fire and ambulance arrived seconds later and got the man out of the truck and onto a backboard.

Minister gets tour of local roads
Alberta Infrastructure Minister Lyle Oberg got an earful and an eyeful on the subject of bad roads when he visited Slave Lake last week. On a tour of northern Alberta, Dr. Oberg left Slave Lake with no doubt about the infrastructure challenges facing local municipalities.

Storm win two
After a rocky start to the season, the Slave Lake Storm fastball team bounced back with a win in their third game of the season last Wednesday. Combined with two points from a forfeit on Monday, they now own a respectable record of two wins and one loss in the High Prairie Ladies Fastball League.
Colts still undefeated in mens league baseball
In the clash of undefeated teams in the Southshore Men’s Baseball League last week, the Colts won the day. Behind Darin Bumgarner’s three-hit pitching, they beat the Cardinals 5 – 0 and grabbed first place for themselves.
