Town won't pay for Main St. intersection
It wasn’t unanimous, but Slave Lake Town council voted last week to not pay a portion of the cost of the Main St. – Hwy. 2 intersection redevelopment. The developer will pay 25 per cent; the province 75 per cent.
Larson wins M.D. seat by a nose
Municipal District #124 councillor-elect Lorne Larson has a knack for close races, if not close shaves. A year ago the bearded building contractor - a well-known face around Slave Lake for at least 30 years - lost a bid for a council seat in the general election by two votes. Last week he won by a slimmer margin, defeating Marilyn Richer in a by-election, 28 – 27.
