Council not happy about feedlot near lake
The prospect of a cattle feedlot near the shores of Lesser Slave Lake is not making Slave Lake Town councillors very happy. They expressed some of their feelings to that effect when Natural Resources Conservation Board (NRCB) inspector Vince Murray attended the Dec. 6 council meeting.

Affordable housing in Three Acres lot?
The former Three Acres trailer court lot may become an affordable housing apartment complex. Located off Main St. behind the Bargain Market, the site was once earmarked by Sobey’s for its new store and has been up for sale for some time.

Winterhawks’ captain Brian Bouchard tries to shoot the puck through Lamont goalie Garrett Kindred’s pads in the first period of their game Saturday night. He failed, but scored the winner in the third period. The ‘Hawks went on to win 6 - 3.

Winterhawks get even with Lamont
The only team to have defeated the Slave Lake Winterhawks this season was in town Saturday night. For two periods the Lamont Bruins looked like they might do it again.

Road trip no good for Wolves
The Wolves had a tough time on the weekend, losing in Beaverlodge and then losing worse in Grande Prairie. They played hard, says team manager Wayne Sarginson, but were punished badly by the other teams’ powerplay.
