Somebody named Mavis Harris was good enough to let us know that musician Jake Matthews will be performing with his brother Gil Grand at the Sawridge Inn in Slave Lake on Mar. 10 as part of their ‘Raise the Roof’ tour for Ronald McDonald House Charities. Gil and Jake are both country musicians from Sudbury Ontario. So that’s on Friday, and if you want more info, the Sawridge is probably the place to get it.

This just in from the local Metis office. Region 5 of the Metis Nation of Alberta is holding its annual general meeting at the Royal Canadian Legion hall in Slave Lake on Saturday, Mar. 11. It starts at 10 a.m. and goes all day. The meeting starts with regional reports, followed by a workshop on diabetes. There’ll also be labour market information and an Apeetogosan representative to answer questions about that program. Lunch and supper are provided and there’ll probably be a jam session after supper, if the musical people show up with their instruments. For more information call 849-4654.
