This young man “suffered” greivous head trauma in the mock accident that took place in the Sawridge Mall parking lot last Friday. The event was the showcase for EMS week and featured a hyper realistic recreation of an accident. Members of all three emergency service (ambulance, fire department, and police) played their part and the Roland Michener drama club played the victims. See the two page color spread on Pages 16-17.

With a home on Devonshire Beach in the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River, and a business in the Town Slave Lake, Gerry Allarie’s life quite literally straddles the border between the two municipalities.
EMS teams ‘Giving back to the community’
The Lesser Slave Lake region will be a safer place to have a heart attack in coming months and years after the community’s air and ground ambulance society promised to invest more than $200,000 on as many as 20 automated defibrillator units and to train 1,000 individuals how to use them.
