Fast-acting employee may have saved a life
Things are just about back to normal at S.L. Ford after an alleged impaired driver drove his SUV into the middle service bay two weeks ago. A few cosmetic repairs remain to be fixed and one of the injured mechanics, Richard Ricci, is back to work. It may be business as usual for him, but he says he owes his very life to co-worker Thomas Larson for pulling him to safety when the truck came barreling through.

Doubling the size of Widewater
Don’t start counting any chickens before they’re hatched, but there’s a plan in the works for a new residential subdivision in Widewater. It’s one that would totally transform the neighbourhood.

Under 16 soccer Drillers win gold in Millet
Slave Lake’s Under 16 girls’ soccer team, the Drillers, came up big, big, big in a tournament in Millet earlier this month. The Drillers won four straight games, prevailing in the gold medal match by a 2 – 1 score in a shoot-out.

Red Sox nip Cards
The Boss Pressure Red Sox seem to be the team to beat in the Southshore Men’s Baseball League this year. Not that they’re blowing anybody away.
