When you’re sick of losing, the cure should be a game against the worst team in the league. If that team has a shorter bench than you, so much the better.
That’s what the Wolves faced Sunday in Beaverlodge. Judging by the game sheet, they started off with some enthusiasm, firing 21 shots at Blades’ goalie Lincoln Carriere in the first period. But all they got to show for it was one goal, while the Blades scored four.
Beaverlodge went on to an 8 – 2 victory.
“It’s a confidence issue our team has right now,” says coach Scott Sinclair. “I haven’t lost confidence in them but some of them have lost confidence in themselves.”
Trevor Ahola and Darryl Garon were the Wolves’ goal scorers. Michael Kashuba played the game in net.
This Friday the Wolves finish off the 2006 part of their schedule with a game in Peace River. Their next home action is Jan. 6 and 7 against Beaverlodge.
