Charges pending in crosswalk death
Slave Lake RCMP has finished its investigation of the Dec. 19 collision that killed Silvia Borges. The 47-year-old was crossing Main St. at 12 Ave S when she was struck by a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.
More stores, more services coming across the highway
A local property development company plans to more than double the size of the commercial area south of Hwy. 2. Legacy Developments Inc. presented its plans to Town council on Dec. 19, showing a complex that stretches from the Wal-Mart all the way to Caribou Trail.

Wolves play well for 40 minutes
For 40 minutes, the Slave Lake Wolves had something good going on against the Peace River Navigators in their Dec. 22 game. They led 2 – 0 after one period and still hung on to a one-goal lead after two.
