Employment Opportunities in and around Slave Lake

Top Stories This Week - February 14, 2007

The Aspenview School Board arrived en masse at the Smith School community talent show that went down in the tiny hamlet last Saturday night. Various administrators showed up and roasted Smith School principal and event organizer Glen Finney (second from right) in appreciation of his hard work. They turned Chuck Berry’s Johnny B. Goode into Finney Be Good. Now in it’s second year, Finney waived the $150 program fee students had to pay last year and said the course would live or die on donations and hard work. The talent show raised $1,875.20 and pushes the total for the year to neary $7,000. Eight thousand is needed to pay for it. Appearing in no particular order are Brian LeMessurier, Mark Centazzo, Denny Sawchuk, and Brian Rudyk.
