Vote on Catholic school division to go ahead
It looks as if Catholic voters in Slave Lake will be faced with an additional ballot choice in next October’s school trustee election. They’ll be asked to answer the following question, or one like it:
‘Do you favour the Slave Lake ward separating from the Living Waters Division?’
Who's got the highest IQ?
Who’s smarter, mayors or tattoo artists? We’ll find out on Mar. 18 when a team of Canadian municipal leaders go head to head with tattooers, millionaires and others in CBC’s ‘Test the Nation: IQ’ contest.

Edmonton team wins 43rd annual Oilmen's Bonspiel
Gord Stephenson’s Microwatt rink out of Edmonton took the 43rd annual Slave Lake Oilmen’s Bonspiel on the weekend. They ended up the only undefeated team when they topped Keith Mielke’s Option Machine team in the ‘A’ final Sunday evening.
Winterhawks fall to Lamont in five
The Slave Lake Winterhawks seemed due for a win in Lamont. Back there on Saturday for the deciding game of their best-of-five semi-final playoff series, their chances looked good.
