Canadian Half Pints ‘Pee Wee’ (left) and former pro wrestler ‘Frenchy’ Lamont ham it up with St. Mary of the Lake teacher Jason Andrusiak after planting a shaving cream pie on his noggin in last week’s presentation on teasing and bullying. Sponsored by the Slave Lake K.A.R.E. (Kindness And Respect for Everyone) Committee, the Half Pints message was that teasing is a form of bullying, and it isn’t cool at all.

Slave Lake Town fathers and their property owners might be in for some good news if early census reports are confirmed.

Building, building, building
The 2007 spring construction season is in full swing in Slave Lake with builders, cement trucks, earth moving, leveling, and compacting machinery in high gear in nearly every quadrant.

Action from a cool, but sunny night of baseball on May 23. There are lots of new faces in slowpitch this season, with over half the teams being new to the league.

Slowpitch softball underway with a robust 17 teams

Things are looking up on the slowpitch front, with 17 teams participating in this year’s league play. Last Wednesday evening, when The Leader visited the slowpitch diamonds on Caribou Trail, eight teams were in action and the mood seemed buoyant.



Gold, silver and bronze

Two Slave Lake tae kwon do students competed at the Jr. provincials in Edmonton on May 19. Bradon Doll and Riley Gauchier both came home with gold medals in one event.
