Canyon Creek harbour asks M.D. for a break
A funding request from the Canyon Creek Harbour Authority pitted councillors for the Municipal District of Lesser Slave River against their administrators last month – at least in principle.

Hot brakes and hidden compartments
Motorists on Hwy. #2 may have noticed an odd sight at the commercial vehicle inspection station last week. A big white van was parked on the grass between the highway and the weigh scales. Protruding from its rear bumper was an arm, at the end of which was a black ball about the size of a volleyball or a bit smaller.

Men's league wraps up: Eagles win the title

The Widewater Eagles reclaimed the Southshore league title in a one-day playoff tournament on July 21. The Eagles did it by first beating the Wabasca Indians and then knocking off the defending champion Boss Pressure Red Sox in the final.



Sharks compete in Peace River

The Slave Lake Sharks sent a relatively small contingent to a swim meet in Peace River on July 21. Only nine participated, but they made their mark.
