Public school division looking into French immersion for Slave Lake.
The campaign to get a French immersion program back in Slave Lake continued last week when a delegation of parents attended the High Prairie School Division Board of Trustees meeting in Slave Lake.

College housing to go ahead
There are a few details to be worked out, but with $3.1 million cash in the bag, Northern Lakes College plans to go ahead with a student housing project in Slave Lake.

Winterhawks prevail in overtime over Legal

Slave Lake's senior men's team had a successful road excursion to Legal on Saturday night. They beat the Vipers 8-7 in overtime for their fourth win of the season, evening their record at four wins and four losses.



Wolves split pair with Dawson

New Wolves goalie Nico Perrie had a memorable first game as a member of the Slave Lake Jr. 'B' team. Not only did he backstop the Wolves to a win in front of the home crowd Saturday night against a good team, he capped it by blanking their best shooters in a game-deciding shoot-out.

No nukes in northern Alberta, please.

If you noticed a couple vehicles rolling through town on Sunday, Nov. 18, carrying what appeared to be leaky barrels of radioactive waste, the the folks of the Peace River Environmental Society have at least partly acheived their goal.
