Fatal crash of 2006 sees final ruling in traffic court
One year and a day after a fatal car accident that left a woman dead, a local man appeared in Slave Lake Provincial Court to answer charges of failing to yield to a pedestrian.

Council gives green light to school site development plan
The development of a new school site south of Hwy. 2 reached a milestone last week, when Slave Lake town council approved a development agreement with the owners of the property. The agreement covers the servicing of the 16-acres site, which is designated to hold both a public and separate school at some point.

Bantam 'AA' Thunder drop two

The high-flying Bantam ‘AA’ Thunder were brought down a notch or two on the Dec. 15 weekend, losing their first two games of the season. On Dec. 15 they dropped a 4 – 1 decision to Hinton in Hinton. On Dec. 16 they fell short in Edson, losing 4 – 3.



Atom 'A' lose big, win big

It was an up and down weekend for the Atom ‘A’ Thunder. On Dec. 15 they lost 15 – 3 to Edson in Edson. Then on Dec. 16 they turned around and hammered Whitecourt 10 – 6.
