Slave Lake’s Ban-tam ‘AA’ Thunder came very close against Peace River. But after losing the two-game, total-goal series 6 -5, it will be Peace River, not the Thunder, moving on in the quest to represent the zone at the provincial championships.
Home ice advantage meant nothing in the series. Peace River won the game in Slave where Slave Lake pre-vailed 3 - 1. That left them one goal short.
Brandon Devos, Joey Bigstone and Anthony Nahamko got the goals for the Thunder in the second game.
In league play, the Thunder finished the regular season with a 2 - 2 tie with Morinville on Feb. 3. Bigstone and Kirk Ruecker got the goals.
