Lakeside skaters finish the season on a high note

Eleven skaters from the Lakeside Figure Skating Club competed in the final competition of the season in Grande Prairie this past weekend and brought home 14 individual medals and three team medals.
The coaches were extremely proud of the skaters’ performances. Their hard work throughout the season really paid off.
Winning two individual medals each were: Danelle Sheppard with Bronze medals in Elements and Solo Dance; Shayna Zimmerman with a Silver in Freeskate and a Bronze in Solo Dance; Angela McGill with Bronze Medals in Elements and Interpretive; Haley Forseth with a Silver in Interpretive and a Bronze in Solo Dance; Kelsi Ching with a Silver in Elements and a Gold in Freeskate; and Laura Ghostkeeper with Gold in both Elements and Freeskate. Bailee Beauchamp won a Bronze medal in Elements and Shyla Wakefield won Silver in Elements. Morgan Bassett, Kailee Beauchamp and Tess Harmata also had good performances on the weekend.
In the Team Elements events, the Lakeside Introductory Team of Kailee Beauchamp, Bailee Beauchamp, Danelle Sheppard and Shayna Zimmerman won the Bronze medal. The Preliminary Team of Haley Forseth, Shyla Wakefield, Tess Harmata and Angela McGill won the Silver medal and the Jr. Bronze Team of Kelsi Ching, Laura Ghostkeeper, Shyla Wakefield and Haley Forseth won the Bronze medal.
