Ruth Nora Cocks was last seen leaving the Grand Union Hotel in Athabasca at 2:30 a.m. on Mar. 29. Her whereabouts since then are a mystery, and the Athabasca RCMP is hoping someone in the Slave Lake or Smith area might know something.
“Cocks is known to frequent the Slave Lake and Smith areas,” says Sgt. Brian Scott in an Apr. 1 release.
Police describe Cocks as a native female, age 51, with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes. When last seen, she was wearing a dark coloured jacket, blue jeans and dark coloured shoes. Her purse was found near the Muskeg Creek bridge on the west side of Athabasca.
