Golf was on a lot of peoples minds this past weekend, but the weather hasn't exactly been cooperating. Snow wasn't as deep on all the holes at Gilwood Golf Club on Friday, but the view of the teebox on #1 from the clubhouse wasn't too encouraging.

M.D. cranks up the heat on sewage issue.
At least a couple of M.D. #124 councillors are getting more than a little antsy about the prospects for finishing off the south shore wastewater project. Government funding has dried up, for the moment, leaving the M.D. unable to complete the system through Widewater, Wagner and Nine Mile Point.
Three die in Hwy. 2 crash near Kinuso
Police are looking for help in figuring out what led to a deadly crash on Hwy. 2 near Kinuso early on April 11. Three young men, including the driver, died when a Ford Explorer rolled in the ditch at about 1:30 a.m.
M.D. council not ready to jump on shelter bandwagon
At its April 9 meeting M.D. #124 council considered a report on a Northern Haven request for annual financial support for an emergency women's shelter in Slave Lake.

Novice Blue finish season with tourney win
The Slave Lake Novice Blue Thunder capped off a fine season at the KC Knights tournament in Edmonton April 4-6. They went 3-1 ,winning the 'B' championship in convincing fashion with a 9-1 whupping of Grande Prairie team.
