Three die in Hwy. 2 crash near Kinuso

Police are looking for help in figuring out exactly what led to a deadly crash on Hwy. 2 near Kinuso early on Apr. 11. Three young men, including the driver, died when a Ford Explorer rolled in the ditch at about 1:30 a.m.
Dead are Ricky Joseph Davis, 21, of Swan River, Tyler James Loyie, 17, of McLennan, and Brent Justin Credgeur, 22, of Wabasca.
In a news release, Faust RCMP said a second vehicle, a Ford Mustang, was involved, but the driver was not injured. They said the vehicles “may have been traveling together,” but did not say the vehicles had collided, or that the second vehicle was damaged.
Nor did the release say anything about whether or not the occupants of the Explorer were wearing seatbelts. That’ll no doubt be part of the investigation.
“Factors that will be addressed include vehicle’s mechanical condition, speed, alcohol and any other driving influences. Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the driving of either vehicle, or other vehicles in the area around the time of the collisions, to contact Faust RCMP at 355-3670.”
What police do know is that there were five occupants of the Ford Explorer. Two were dead when RCMP arrived on the scene, and another died while receiving treatment at the scene. The other two were transported to hospital in Slave Lake, and from there to Edmonton, “suffering from potential life-threatening injuries.”
Police did not release the names of the two injured people, but did say they are 18 and 20 years old, and both from Slave Lake.
