One of the government CL-215 ‘Ducks’ drops its load on the still-smouldering fire near Wagner on the morning of May 16. As of this writing, no houses had been lost and there had been no injuries, although some outbuildings and equipment did not escape the blaze.
The fire was one of several that started in the district on May 15, under what were very difficult conditions for firefighters to control.
