Fort McMurray-Athabasca Member of Parliament Brian Jean (left), chats with Slave Lake Mayor Karina Pillay-Kinnee and Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo public works manager Wes Holodniuk, just prior to joining Lesser Slave Lake MLA Pearl Calahasen in announcing a joint $1.26 million Canada/Alberta Municipal Rural Infrastructure Fund grant to the Slave Lake library project on behalf of their governments last week. Holodniuk was at the presentation to accept a grant of $333,332 for intersection upgrades in Fort McMurray.

Saturday night the arena turned into the host of a wild show thanks to the local Elks chapter.

Boisvert best at Gilwood Memorial Spring Open


Joey Boisvert's 73 over 18 holes was the lowest score of the season this past weekend. Playing in the second flight, Boisvert easily topped his handicap group and bettered first flight leader John Keavenly by three strokes as well.
