With the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the eighth, Zachery Gill hit a single over third base to drive in the winning run, giving the Heat a 18-17 win. The Heat’s third win came by means of a forfeit when Horse Lake had to cancel their scheduled game.
The 5-3 Heat now await the results of the other teams across the province to determine where they will be tiered.
At press time, the Heat sit in fourth place out of 14 teams across the province. The Provincial Championships will be held July 25/26.
