Got crabapples? We know somebody who’ll take ‘em off your hands! Tammy Leslie here at The Leader office loves making crabapple jelly and has a shortage of the raw material. We’re pretty sure there are readers out there with crabapple trees who don’t make use of the fruit, so if you’re one of those, let us know! The number here at The Leader office complex is 780-849-4380.

Harry Bartlett of the Rotary Club says there are lots of tickets left for the $10,000 cash raffle and they’re available from Rotary members, at the town office, the library, The Business Factory and probably half a dozen other places around town. Get ‘em while they’re hot! says Harry.

Well now, what’s this? A course in painting birch trees on Tyvec paper? That’s probably not the stuff that new houses get sheathed in before the siding goes on, but you never know. Anyhow, artist Sandra Artimowich is teaching this course on September 27 at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation. Find out more about it by calling 780-849-8240.

We hear George Dashkewytch is settling in on the far side of the world for his new teaching job in Macau. George’s wife Leah tells us he’s finding it quite different so far than he expected, and he hadn’t even started teaching yet! Apparently the hunt for an apartment was tougher than anticipated, leaving George very little time for golfing. We’re sure he’ll get it sorted out. George has been the principal at Kinuso School the past few years, and will be teaching math at the International School of Macau. Macau is just a short jaunt by ferry from Hong Kong, where George and Leah’s son Travis lives.
