New, Gullion returned as regional Metis leaders
Incumbents Bev New and Elmer Gullion won re-election as Region 5 president and vice-president in the Sept. 2 Metis Nation of Alberta elections. It’s a fourth term for New, who has been involved in Metis politics for the past 15 years.

Unpaid town tickets will now go to court
Slave Lake’s two peace officers are writing plenty of tickets, but not many of them are being paid. That’s the word from Const. Mark Becker, who says things are about to change.
