Sarah from the ambulance service called the other day to let us know the details on the 11th annual spaghetti dinner the ambulance folks are holding. It’s at the Elks Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 21 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Eight bucks will get you a meal - $4 if you’re a youngster or an oldster, and $20 for the whole family. The money goes towards equipment and other items the ambulance service needs. As well as the grub, Sarah says there will be displays of some of the projects the ambulance service is working on.
All you need to do is show up with an appetite and a few bucks in your pocket!

Rik Bassett tells us that Castrol Raceway of Edmonton had somebody at the Widewater Demolition Derby last month and whoever it was liked what he/she saw so much the Castrol folks have asked Rik if he and his team would be interested in putting on a few similar shows in Edmonton next year. Whether or not they do it remains to be seen, but it’s a feather in the cap of the organizers, for sure.

Deputy fire chief Jamie Coutts tells us that last week’s open house at the fire department was probably the best ever, given the participation by other services, including ambulance, police, SRD and victim services. Jamie estimates 550 people attended, based on hot dogs served, probably as good a system as any.
