The Slave Lake Winterhawks had a forgettable start to the season on Saturday, but turned it around nicely Sunday to start the new season 1 - 1.
Woe on the road for Wolves
The Slave Lake Wolves lost a pair of road games on the weekend. First they dropped a 7 - 0 decision to Grande Prairie and on Sunday they fell 7 - 5 to the Beaverlodge Blades.
