The 15th annual Christmas Craft Sale and Family Fun Day was celebrated in royal style, beginning Friday, Nov. 21.

Shell suspends Grosmont heavy oil project
A heavy oil extraction project north of Wabasca has been suspended for the time being. Low oil prices are apparently to blame.
Seven charged in Swan River drug bust
Faust RCMP, along with other lakeshore detachments, were surprised to find nearly twenty people in and around a suspected Swan River drug house they raided on Nov. 15.

Goalie Taylor Andres of the Slave Lake Bantam ‘AA’ Thunder braces for a shot from the Barrhead player in a game on Sunday. The Thunder fought back from a 3 - 0 first-period deficit, but ended up losing 7 - 6. On Saturday they beat Hinton 8 - 4, and currently sit in second place in the Sturgeon Pembina League behind Barrhead.

Wolves pick up fourth win
The Slave Lake Wolves put in a good performance against Beaverlodge on Saturday night and it paid off in an 8 - 2 win. They played just as hard if not harder against Fort St. John on Sunday and had an 8 - 1 loss to show for it.
Winterhawks overtime winners in Lamont
The Slave Lake Winterhawks haven’t broken the habit of taking a skeleton crew on the road. But on Saturday in Lamont they got away with it, squeaking past the defending league champion Bruins 3 - 2 in overtime.
