Slave Lake, Alberta

Wolves have no answer to Huskies

A road trip to Fort St. John is tough under any circumstances. With a short bench it’s that much harder, as the Slave Lake Wolves found out (again) on the weekend.
Saturday they lost 6 - 3 and Sunday 7 - 1 to the second place Huskies.
“It was 3 - 2 going into the third period,” on Saturday, says coach Scott Sinclair. “It was a combination of not burying our chances earlier when we were sharper and having a short bench.”
The bench got shorter when Michael Loroff got hurt, and that didn’t help.
Sunday was “more of the same,” Sinclair says. Curtis Malbeuf played well in net, but the last 10 minutes the team came undone.
The Wolves face Peace River Friday for their only game of the weekend.
