Born: 1941 ![]() Mike Russel Adamkewicz, longtime resident of Slave Lake, passed away on Apr. 26, 2008 at the age of 67. Mike was born in 1941 in Athabasca. He and Betty married in Rimbey in October of 1968. Before moving to Slave Lake in 1970 they lived in Whitecourt for one year and Devon for one year. Slave Lake was their home since then, except for a three-year stint in Swan Hills. For many years Mike owned and operated his own road grader. Besides Betty, Mike is survived by children Andrew (Trish), Richard (Randi) and Wesley (Isabelle) and three grandchildren – Shanika-Marie, Kaylen and Isaiah. Also by his sisters Mary Kooi and Irene (Albert) Locher. He was pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Nina, sister Victoria and brothers-in-law Bill Kooi and Chuck Simpson. | |||||||||||||||||||
